Job summary

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on AI expertise, and collaboration with global TE sites, partners, and research institutes to advance the AI Hub in Singapore.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, AI, data science, or related field with substantial R&D experience.
• Proven track record leading complex AI/engineering R&D projects with measurable impact.
• Deep understanding of data science, ML, validation, and engineering problem solving.
• Hands-on experience with generative and agentic AI; LLMs, embeddings, tool calling.
• Experience with multiphysics simulation, CAD workflows, and AI-assisted design.
• Strong Python programming and software development practices.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams.
• Excellent communication of complex AI concepts to engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for TE Singapore AI hub roadmaps and project roadmaps.
• Lead cross-functional projects applying data science and AI to new product development.
• Develop AI/ML solutions using simulation, CAD, manufacturing data, and enterprise data.
• Create agentic AI solutions with workflow orchestration and tool integration.
• Establish evaluation methods for AI models, ensuring safety, robustness, and business impact.
• Collaborate with data science, mechanical engineering, materials, and software teams across sites.
• Partner with business units to identify opportunities and deliverables and drive projects.
• Promote reusable AI methods across TE engineering teams and knowledge sharing.
• Engage with external partners and institutes for knowledge transfer and technology validation.
