Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Sr. Principal Telecommunication Engineer to lead end-to-end telecoms engineering for the TSI package in offshore oil & gas projects.

You will support the Telecoms Lead Engineer, develop system specifications, SIT scopes, and BOMs, and produce block diagrams and technical documentation. You will review telecom studies and participate in bid evaluations and interface management with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Telecommunications).
• Minimum of 15 years of telecoms detailed engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry, offshore preferred.
• Knowledge of international telecoms regulations, codes, and standards.
• Proficient in writing telecoms specifications.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of the TSI/Telecoms Engineering Package.
• Support the Telecoms Lead Engineer in all telecom-related engineering activities.
• Develop Telecoms Systems Specifications, TSI Scope of Work, and Bill of Materials.
• Prepare Telecoms system block diagrams, sketches, and related technical documentation.
• Review and validate telecoms system studies including PAGA coverage, radio coverage, VSAT link calculations, and fibre optic link budgets.
• Prepare technical requisitions and perform technical bid evaluations for telecoms systems.
• Perform telecoms power consumption, heat dissipation, and weight calculations.
• Liaise with clients to address engineering comments and propose technical solutions.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to manage system interfaces and integration.
• Ensure all telecom engineering deliverables comply with technical, quality, and schedule requirements.
