Job summary

You should have at least 7 years of backend experience, a strong command of Java and Spring Boot, and proven ability to work across APAC with English and Chinese.

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in backend development and microservices, with practical experience working with Alibaba Cloud and the ability to collaborate effectively with bilingual regional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services to support high-performance and reliable applications.
• Design solutions and implement cloud-native applications and deployments within the Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud) environment.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance, reliability, and code quality improvements.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, DevOps engineers, and regional stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

General Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in backend software development, with strong hands-on experience in Java-based enterprise applications.
• Proven experience working with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native application development.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese to effectively collaborate with regional stakeholders and cross-functional teams across APAC.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including microservices development, RESTful API design, object-oriented programming, and enterprise application development.
• Hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud) and cloud-native application deployment, integration, and operations.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including system design, database integration, testing, debugging, Git-based development, and CI/CD.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments.
• Knowledge of messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevOps practices.
