Job summary

ES RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a system administrator for a 1-year project with airport work location in Singapore. The role involves maintaining and supporting critical infrastructure, including MS SQL Server, Windows Server, virtualization, and containerized apps. Mon to Fri office hours with 24x7 standby on a rotation basis.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of hands-on system administration and infrastructure support experience.
• Strong MS SQL Server administration including maintenance, backup/restore, and performance monitoring.
• Proven Windows Server administration experience (user management, Active Directory, group policies).
• Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Foundational knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Basic familiarity with container technologies (Docker or equivalent).
• Willingness to participate in rotational standby duty for after-hours support.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting or batch files for automation.
• Understanding of patch management and deployment tools (SCCM, WSUS).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of MS SQL Server databases.
• Execute backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Monitor database performance metrics and implement tuning strategies.
• Apply patches, updates, and security configurations in accordance with best practices.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including user accounts, group policies, and security configurations.
• Respond promptly to system-related queries and incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
• Perform system patching, updates, and hardening procedures to maintain security compliance.
• Support virtual machine (VM) environments, including resource allocation and performance optimization.
• Participate in rotational standby duty roster to provide after-hours support.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
