Job summary

Connexions Integrated Learning Hub in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to support youth/adults with autism. You will supervise learners, design therapeutic activities, manage training resources, and maintain records while upholding high safety and confidentiality standards.

The role involves coordinating IPPs, attending to attendance and progress, and working closely with supervisors to ensure a nurturing, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

  • ITE/O-Level/A-Level/Diploma required.
  • Experience in Special Education or related fields is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive supervision to learners and ensure safety at all times.
  • design and lead therapeutic and training activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Develop and manage training materials inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the centre.
  • Respect learner confidentiality and maintain privacy.
  • Foster strong family connections and conduct assessments.
  • Maintain IPPs, attendance records, training programs, and progress reviews.

We are actively looking for a dedicated and talented Special Needs Teacher who can assist us in fostering a supportive atmosphere for our learners.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the development and welfare of our learners, while also experiencing a fulfilling and rewarding journey through the execution of the following tasks:

  • Provide attentive supervision to learners and prioritizing their safety and overall welfare at all times.

  • Proactively ensure the welfare and promote positive conduct among our learners, adhering to guidance and suggestions from supervisors and consultants to continually improve supervision methods while actively seeking avenues for enhancement.

  • Design and lead therapeutic and training activities that are tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of our learners

  • Develop and manage an inventory of training materials, ensuring that they are up-to-date and readily available.

  • Uphold high cleanliness and safety standards within the centre, creating a comfortable and secure environment for everyone.

  • Demonstrate utmost respect for our learners confidentiality, maintaining their privacy at all times.

  • Foster and maintain a strong connection with their families.

  • Conduct assessment and maintain accurate records to monitor learner performance.

  • Develop and maintain a robust system for overseeing individualised performance plan (IPPs), attendance records, training program, and other administrative duties to assess their readiness for progression to the next level in consultation with superiors.

Skills Requirements

  • A loving heart dedicated to the education and support of youth/adults with autism is a must!

  • Demonstrates compassion and patience

  • Strong team player

  • Computer literacy skills in MS Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualification / Experience

  • Minimum of an ITE Certification/O Level/A Level/ Diploma from a recognised educational institution (for various job openings to peg to qualifications and experience)

  • Experience in Special Education, Nursing, Counselling, Care Services and working with youth/adults with autism through Community Service will be an advantage
