Job summary

APSN Singapore is seeking an attentive Assistant Teacher to support special needs learners across self-contained and integrated classrooms. You will help plan, deliver, and evaluate individualized educational services and activities under teachers' guidance.

Responsibilities include supervising students, preparing materials, assisting with behaviour management, and coordinating with families and allied professionals to ensure well-being and progress of MID and other students.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification as stated: GCE O level, NITEC or diploma or equivalent.
• Proven ability to support students with Mild Intellectual Disabilities (MID).
• Familiarity with educational technology applications and tools.
• Strong time management and communication skills for classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning, developing and delivering lessons and activities.
• Supervise students in classrooms and community activities; support behaviour management.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom environments for lessons.
• Provide support for students with MID and other developmental disabilities.
• Collaborate with parents, allied professionals and external agencies to ensure well-being.
• Contribute to school-wide educational and recreational programmes.
