Job summary

National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Engineer (Solid State Batteries) at the Materials Science and Engineering department. The project focuses on designing composites of nanostructured inorganic solid electrolytes with polymers to achieve high conductivity and stable interfaces, aiming for long-cycle-life solid-state batteries.

The successful candidate will design, synthesize, and characterise materials, optimise cathode composites and interfaces,

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Materials Science or related discipline is required.
• Some knowledge of electrochemical battery characterization, preferably solid-state or polymer batteries.
• Basic knowledge in impedance spectroscopy, XRD and solid-state NMR is desired.
• Ability to work independently and cooperate effectively with the interdisciplinary team in this CRP project is necessary.
• Good writing and presentation skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and realise long-life solid-state batteries by intelligent composites.
• Coordinate scalable synthesis and advanced structural/electrochemical characterisation.
• Optimise cathode composites and their interfaces with the electrolyte.
• Integrate functionally intelligent sensors and actuators for high performance solid state pouch cell batteries with long cycle life.
