Job summary

Reolink in Singapore is seeking a Software Lead (Java Backend) to drive design, development and delivery of high‑performance services. You will lead a small team of developers, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and regional teams to align technical decisions with business goals.

You should have strong Java, cloud experience (AWS/Azure), and hands‑on expertise with Kafka, Redis, Zookeeper and Dubbo.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with Java
• Minimum 1 year of experience leading a team of software engineers
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Strong fundamentals in operating systems, networks, data structures, and algorithms
• Cloud platforms experience (AWS and Azure)
• Experience with open-source frameworks and tools like Kafka, RocketMQ, Dubbo, Zookeeper, Redis
• Deep knowledge of MySQL including schema design, SQL optimization, and scaling strategies

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Mentor and guide 2-5 developers; conduct code reviews and promote best practices
• Own design, development, refactoring and performance optimization of core system components
• Drive architectural decisions for scalability, high availability and fault tolerance
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and monitoring
• Collaborate with local and regional teams and business units; share knowledge and elevate technical capabilities

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 year experience of software development experience (Java Programming) and minimum 1 year experience in leading group of software engineers are preferable.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (operating systems, network principles, data structures, and algorithms)
• Cloud Platforms: AWS and Azure
• Frameworks: Common open-source frameworks and tools such as Kafka, RocketMQ, Dubbo, Zookeeper, and Redis.

• Research, design, and implement innovative solutions to address complex business and technical problems, particularly in high-concurrency scenarios.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions, focusing on scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.

Full-Lifecycle Participation

• Actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design to testing, deployment, and operational monitoring.
• Work effectively with local and regional team members, as well as business unit partners.
• Share knowledge, promote best practices, and help elevate the team's overall technical capabilities.
