Job description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
• 5 years of experience leading Machine Learning (ML) design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in content safety applied to software products.
• Experience in Responsible AI or safety-adjacent fields, such as factuality, or product policy.
• Experience with scaling pipelines, deploying systems, and designing defensive architecture to meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Knowledge of machine learning and Large Language Models (LLMs), and concepts of transformers, activations, and how to train and deploy them.

The Content Safety organization in Core provides safety solutions that protect the company’s users from exposure to offensive, sensitive or harmful content. The team combines subject matter expertise in the content safety domain and a practice of machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based techniques with the production-grade experience in serving infrastructure and product integrations to protect users from harm, maintain the company’s engagement in the area of online safety across the industry, and make foundational models and the internet safer for society.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind the company’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at the company.
