Job summary

JTC Corporation is seeking a hands-on backend engineer to contribute to Platform Team initiatives. You will design and implement backend applications, REST APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js, and containerize with Docker/Podman for Kubernetes deployment.

The role involves maintaining manifests, Helm charts, and supporting CI/CD pipelines while ensuring robust documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant backend experience.
• Strong Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js/TypeScript development.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, relational databases and SQL.
• Solid understanding of Docker/Podman, Kubernetes concepts and resources.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications, REST APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js.
• Containerise applications using Docker/Podman; prepare and maintain Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts.
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot on Kubernetes, including ingress, DNS, networking, and storage.
• Support Kubernetes cluster bootstrapping, upgrades and patching.
• Support CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Ansible/AWX), incident investigation and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain technical documentation and deployment runbooks.

Job description

What the role is:

A hands‑on individual contributor role within the Platform Team, responsible for backend application development, system integration, Kubernetes operations and maintenance of shared platform components.

What you will be working on:

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications, REST APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js.
• Write clean, secure, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and solution design.
• Containerise applications using Docker, Podman, Containerd ; prepare and maintain Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts.
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot applications on Kubernetes, including pods, services, ingress, DNS, networking, certificates and storage.
• Support Kubernetes cluster bootstrapping, upgrades and patching.
• Support CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Ansible/AWX), incident investigation and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures and operational runbooks.

What we are looking for:

• Strong Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js/TypeScript development experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, relational databases and SQL.
• Solid understanding of Docker/Podman, Kubernetes concepts and resources (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, PVs).
• Proficiency with Git, branching workflows and code reviews.
• Basic Linux administration, shell scripting and networking fundamentals (HTTP/S, DNS, TCP/IP, TLS).
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.
• Background in in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• Practical Kubernetes exposure.
