Job summary

JTC Corporation in Singapore seeks a hands-on backend engineer to design, develop and maintain backend applications, REST APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot and Node.js. You will containerise with Docker/Podman, manage Kubernetes manifests, and contribute to platform components.

You'll deploy, monitor and troubleshoot on Kubernetes, support CI/CD pipelines, and maintain runbooks and technical docs.

Qualifications

• Strong Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js/TypeScript development experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, relational databases and SQL.
• Solid understanding of Docker/Podman, Kubernetes concepts and resources.
• Proficiency with Git, branching workflows and code reviews.
• Basic Linux administration, shell scripting and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

[What the role is]

A hands-on individual contributor role within the Platform Team, responsible for backend application development, system integration, Kubernetes operations and maintenance of shared platform components.

[What we are looking for]

• Solid understanding of Docker/Podman, Kubernetes concepts and resources (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, PVs).
• Proficiency with Git, branching workflows and code reviews.
• Basic Linux administration, shell scripting and networking fundamentals (HTTP/S, DNS, TCP/IP, TLS).
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.
• Background in in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• Practical Kubernetes exposure.
