Job description

Join us as a Software Engineer (Developer Platform) at Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT).

CSIT develops products to advance the national security interests of Singapore, used in a wide range of use-cases including Counter-terrorism and Computer Network Defence.

Our product teams need an integrated platform and infrastructure to deliver software quickly and efficiently. We are looking for talented platform engineers passionate about developer experience to build and expand this foundational platform that accelerates our developers’ productivity.

Role

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of software toolchain, services, and automation on our cloud infrastructure to aid our engineers in software development. Collaborate closely with product teams to ensure an excellent software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features and automation for our developer platform, including cloud services and APIs used by our developers.
• Work with engineers across our entire software development stack to improve software delivery performance.
• Collaborate with other platform and infra teams to ensure seamless integration between our developer platform and other services in our private cloud.
• Write clean codes, participate in code reviews, and provide feedback to other engineers.
• Proactively improve availability, performance, efficiency, monitoring, and emergency response for our platform and infrastructure.

Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).

Nice to Haves

• Experience working with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with API design principles and experience building and maintaining APIs.
• Experience working on developer-facing systems, cloud services, infrastructure automation, or in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
• Experience in the design and operation of large-scale distributed systems.
