Vertical Institute, Singapore's AI and technology training provider, is seeking a Software Engineer to join a lean, high-output engineering team. You will write production code, contribute to system design, and build integrations that power our learning platform and internal operations.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across admissions, sales, finance, and operations to translate business needs into reliable technical solutions, while maintaining code quality and ship quickly.

Qualifications

• Software Engineering Experience: proven experience building production-grade web apps.
• Backend / Full-Stack: strong backend or full-stack development experience.
• System Fundamentals: solid understanding of databases, APIs, architecture, and performance.
• Production Experience: experience debugging live systems and deploying software.
• Problem Solving: analytical, practical, solution-focused mindset.
• Ownership: able to own projects with minimal supervision.
• Communication: clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and maintain core learning platform and web apps.
• Translate requirements into scalable software.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance.
• Develop APIs, databases, and backend services.
• Integrate LMS, CRM, payment systems, analytics.
• Build internal tools and automations.
• Ensure reliability, monitoring, and releases.
