Job summary

Vertical Institute in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to build and maintain the learning platform and internal tools. You will develop core systems, APIs, and integrations, plus internal automations that improve how the business operates.

You will collaborate with admissions, sales, finance, and operations to turn business requirements into reliable technical solutions, while upholding code quality and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade web applications.
• Backend or full-stack software development expertise.
• Solid understanding of databases, APIs, software architecture.
• Experience debugging live systems and delivering reliable software.
• Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
• Able to own projects with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and maintain core learning platform and web applications.
• Develop and maintain APIs, databases, and backend services; integrate SaaS tools.
• Build internal applications and automations to streamline workflows.
• Write and maintain automated tests; participate in code reviews and documentation.
• Implement CI/CD workflows to support reliable releases; monitor performance.
• Collaborate with product, admissions, sales, finance, and operations to deliver solutions.
• Communicate trade-offs clearly to stakeholders; ship iteratively and adapt to priorities.
