The team is building on decades long legacy of Applied Materials in automation through both digital and physical embodiments. The Cobot team at Applied Materials is responsible for extending this leadership by building cobots and other future physical AI embodiments for performing repair and maintenance tasks for tools used in semiconductor manufacturing.
This role provides software architecture direction and people leadership for service robotics software platforms. It is responsible for definition and governance of product‑grade software ecosystems that enable development, validation, release, field deployment, fleet operations, updates, sustainment, and lifecycle management for globally deployed service cobots.
Technical Knowledge
Comprehensive understanding of software architecture, software systems engineering, robotics software stacks, integration patterns, requirements, validation, release processes, release management and product lifecycle management.
Master's or higher in Robotics, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering. Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
10+ years of relevant software engineering, software architecture, product development, or robotics/automation platform experience, including experience leading teams, influencing cross‑functional stakeholders, and delivering complex software systems through a product lifecycle.
