Job summary

SSVP LTD. is seeking a committed Social Worker to support individuals and families in need within Singapore. You will collaborate with volunteers, community partners and social service agencies to provide holistic case management and programme development.

The role involves data collection, research support and opportunities to contribute to policy discussions. Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends may be required, with access to professional-development benefits.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in Singapore’s social service sector.
  • Good assessment, case management and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends when required.
  • Registration with the Singapore Association of Social Workers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management including assessment, care planning, intervention and review.
  • Support volunteers in engagement with individuals and families.
  • Assist in developing and implementing programme/work group activities.
  • Keep abreast of current research and support data collection.
  • Contribute to policy discussions as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Social Worker to join our team. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support individuals and families in need while working closely with our network of volunteers, community partners and social service agencies.

Key Responsibilities
Case management:
  • Provide case management, including assessment, care planning, intervention, referral and review.
  • Support individuals and families facing financial, psychosocial and other complex challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with social service agencies and community partners to coordinate appropriate support.
  • Maintain proper case documentation and uphold professional ethics and practice standards.
Volunteer support:
  • Guide and equip SSVP volunteers in their engagement with individuals and families in need.
  • Share best practices in assessment, intervention, ethical case handling, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Contribute to volunteer training, capacity-building and the development of consistent service practices.
Programme Development/group work programs and Implementation
  • Assist in the development of programmes through data collection and the conduct of basic analysis.
  • Assist in the implementation of programmes.
Research
  • Keep abreast of current research and trends.
  • Assist in data collection and support action research activities.
  • Contribute to policy discussions where required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A recognized Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work.
  • One to three years of relevant experience in Singapore’s social service sector.
  • Good assessment, case management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with volunteers, families and community partners.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Singapore’s social service landscape and available community resources.
  • Adaptable, open to learning and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends when required.
  • Registration with the Singapore Association of Social Workers is preferred.
