Job summary

Club Rainbow (Singapore) is seeking a dedicated Social Work Assistant to support frontline social work activities and data collection.

You will handle inquiries, assist with project coordination, prepare meeting minutes, and support case work from intake to basic intervention. The role requires strong English skills and empathy for families in need, with collaboration across teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Social Sciences (Social Work) or WSQ Diploma in Community and Social Services.
• Preferably 1–2 years of direct practice experience.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; bilingual in a mother tongue.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend to enquiries from phone, email, and walk-in visitors and redirect to appropriate staff.
• Pack food rations and manage donation-in-kind inventory.
• Reply to routine letters without supervision.
• Maintain department housekeeping, confidentiality, privacy and safety standards.
• Assist social workers in organizing projects and collaborating with external agencies.
• Write meeting minutes.
• Gather monthly statistics and assist with data collection.
• Conduct intakes, gather social information and assess beneficiary needs to facilitate intervention.
• Manage Category 1 and 2 cases (straightforward).
• Participate in corporate events as assigned.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor / Head of Department.

• Packing of food rations, taking charge donation-in-kind inventory
• Reply to routine letters without supervision
• Maintain department housekeeping, confidentiality, privacy and safety standards
• Participate in projects that improve the work processes in the department
• Assist social workers in organizing projects and collaborating with external agencies for internal/external projects
• Writing of meeting minutes
• Gather monthly statistics and assist with research data collection
• Conduct intakes, gather social information and do preliminary investigation on beneficiary’s needs to facilitate intervention by Social Worker.
• Management on Category 1 and 2 cases (straight forward)
• Participate in corporate events as assigned
• Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor / Head of Department

Requirements

• Diploma in Social Sciences (Social Work) / WSQ Diploma in Community and Social Services
• Preferably with minimum 1 to 2 years of direct practice experience
• Must be proficient in spoken and written English, and also effectively bilingual in a mother tongue language
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Possess pleasant disposition with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Cooperate with key social workers and team members to deliver social work outcomes
• An independent team player who has empathy and a strong desire to help families, is non-judgemental and must have good listening and communication skills
