The Maintenance Support Central (MSC) at Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) invites applications for a Social Service Intern. You will assist vulnerable individuals in understanding maintenance and marital rights, support daily operations, and collaborate with partners to ensure clients receive the right services.

Role involves intake assessments, assisting legal clinic sessions, and creating simple publicity materials using Canva.

• Provide timely and quality responses to individuals seeking support from MSC through calls, WhatsApp, emails, walk‑ins, and referrals.
• Provide basic emotional support and active listening to clients through phone or in‑person interactions.
• Assist clients with filing Fresh Maintenance Orders and Enforcement of Maintenance Orders applications and guide them through the legal processes and terms (training provided).
• Conduct intake assessments for potential legal clinic clients.
• Assist in facilitating legal clinic sessions and talks.
• Collect client feedback on MSC services.
• Perform other ad‑hoc duties as required.

The Maintenance Support Central (MSC) is an initiative by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO). MSC aims to empower financially vulnerable individuals to understand their marital and maintenance rights and provides them with all-rounded support from our community partners.

SCWO’s MSC is looking for a passionate and dedicated Social Service Intern to join our team. This internship offers a meaningful opportunity to support financially vulnerable individuals while gaining hands‑on experience in programme coordination and social service operations.

As a Social Service Intern at MSC, you'll assist individuals in understanding their maintenance and marital rights and help empower them toward financial independence for themselves and their children. You'll also be involved in supporting our day‑to‑day operations, outreach efforts, and collaboration with other social service agencies and government bodies to ensure clients receive the right support.

Through this internship, you’ll gain insight into the real‑life impact of social services and advocacy and contribute to projects that aim to create positive change in our community.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Final year students or fresh graduates in undergraduate/diploma courses such as counselling, social work, psychology or a relevant field may apply.
