Job summary

Nexus International School Singapore is seeking a motivated Classroom Assistant for Learning Support - Social Emotional. Under the Director of Inclusion, you will support learners' social and emotional development and assist teachers in understanding their needs.

You will implement targeted interventions, help with crisis response, and contribute to a wellbeing programme. The role involves collaboration with Counselling Team, peers, and external agencies, and requires strong English

Qualifications

• Minimum O level education or equivalent (as per CPE guidelines) or higher qualification (Diploma/Degree).
• Experience in an international context is preferred.
• Knowledge of social and emotional needs and related interventions (mindfulness, social skills).
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with Apple devices and Google applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the personal, social and emotional development of learners.
• Oversee intervention programmes and work with the Counselling Team to deliver interventions.
• Set up individual programmes and design appropriate schedules; manage resources.
• Carry out push-in and pull-out interventions with individuals or groups of learners.
• Monitor progress and liaise with teachers to gather basic data; train and support colleagues.
• Facilitate emotional intelligence and restorative approaches.
• Be on call to support withdrawal of learners who may become disruptive due to dysregulation.
• Collaborate with peers to promote positive behaviour and growth mindsets.
• Provide continuity of adult care and supervise daily playtimes.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development.
