Job summary

Sun Siong Engineering is seeking an HVAC/R Design Engineer to oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of customized systems for buildings and processes. You will perform load calculations, airflow analyses, energy modeling, and equipment selection to ensure efficiency.

Collaborating with architects and electrical engineers, you will ensure code compliance, draft reports, and prepare cost estimates and operation manuals for clients.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in HVAC/R design and project execution.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, piping, and control systems, tailored to specific building and process requirements.
• Perform load calculations, airflow analysis, and energy modeling to ensure optimal system sizing and efficiency.
• Select appropriate HVAC equipment based on thermal requirements and client specifications.
• Advice drafting team on updates / changes on mechanical drawings, layouts, and specifications whom uses CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD MEP, Revit).
• Ensure designs and systems comply with building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards (BCA, ISO, etc.).
• Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and contractors during project execution.
• Prepare documentation including technical reports, cost estimates, and operation manuals.
