Job summary

Nala Employment Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced SMT equipment engineer to operate, install and maintain SMT machinery in a high-volume PCBA environment. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime and improve uptime and OEE.

You will collaborate with Production and Process Engineering teams, support equipment qualification for new installations, document maintenance records, and ensure safety and ESD requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in a related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SMT machine/equipment engineering.
• Experience in high-volume SMT/PCBA manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, install, set up, and maintain SMT equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and monitor performance (UPH, OEE, uptime).
• Support new equipment installation, qualification, and FAT/SAT.
• Maintain maintenance records and ensure safety and ESD compliance.

Job description

• Operate, install, set up, and maintain SMT equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM).
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and minimise production downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance, uptime, throughput, and OEE.
• Perform equipment calibration and optimisation.
• Support new equipment installation, qualification, and acceptance (FAT/SAT).
• Work closely with SMT Process Engineers and Production teams to resolve equipment and production issues.
• Maintain equipment maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and meets ESD and safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of SMT equipment and production processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SMT machine/equipment engineering.
• Experience in a high-volume SMT/PCBA manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Understanding of UPH, OEE, uptime, and equipment performance
• Able to work closely with Production and Process Engineering teams.
