Job summary

Keppel is recruiting for a Data Center Facilities role to maintain 100% uptime of critical M&E systems. The candidate will support the DC Operations Lead, perform daily walkthroughs, coordinate master maintenance with Elect/Mech teams and vendors, and ensure safety and reporting compliance in a high-security environment.

Responsibilities include supervising contractor work, maintaining logs, and ensuring alarms and environmental controls are monitored and addressed promptly.

Qualifications

• ITE/Nitec/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in a data center or critical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office; SharePoint experience preferred.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and respond to service requests promptly.
• Assist Operations Lead in daily DC Operations and preventive maintenance to ensure 100% uptime.
• Record faults from daily DC walkthroughs and coordinate maintenance with vendors/OEMs.
• Ensure FOC is monitored, alarms responded to, and escalations provided per plan.
• Induct subcontractors, review MSDS/MOS, and ensure safety compliance on site.
• Supervise contractor work and maintain logs of readings and stock.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients. Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner. Respond to emergency calls 24x7x365 days.

Maintain Data Center Systems Assist the Operation Lead in the daily management of the DC Operations and Periodic Preventive Maintenance Management ensuring 100% uptime of the DC critical M&E systems. Conduct daily walkthrough of DC to record and report any faults or defects detected and take down record of M&E equipment Plan, coordinate Master Maintenance plan from Elect, Mech. Work with Site Lead to inform affected clients and to make changes if requested by clients. Work with all DC vendors/term contractors/equipment OEM on the scheduled maintenance to ensue that all planned maintenance are carried out. Ensure that the FOC is monitored and manned at all times and that EPMS, BMS, and Fire System alarms are responded to in a timely manner; contain/isolate the fault identified and provide impromptu escalations/updates base on escalation plan laid Conduct daily routine checklist to ensure no environmental abnormalities and all critical M&E related systems are in good working condition

• Ensure all subcontractors are inducted and permitted to work within the Critical Environment domain. Review contractor method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures
• Supervise planned maintenance work conducted by contractors/OEMs ensuring all work conducted are as per submitted PTW, MOS and checklist approved, ensuring the quality of work conducted
• Maintain log and records of instrument readings, equipment and consumable stock level
• Report all unlocked doors and racks to the security control
• Briefing and handover to Shift Duty Technician on all outstanding issues and Standing Instructions from the Operation Lead / Assistant Manager / Manager
• Attend to Incidents and field service reporting and filing

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• ITE/Nitec/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study required.
• Experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, Chilled water plant, CRAC units, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• 3 to 5 or more years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment required (preference is given to data center, hospital, pharmaceutical production or power plant experience).
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments.
• Proficient knowledge of HVAC and/or Electrical Systems.
• Shall be proficient in both Electrical and Mechanical.
