Job summary

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for one Research Fellow position in smart pavements. The successful candidate will contribute to projects funded by the Defence Science and Technology Agency of Singapore and work with Associate Professor Ong Ghim Ping Raymond on developing new asphalt pavement design guidelines.

Qualifications

• PhD in civil engineering or related field.
• Experience in field asphalt pavement design and modelling is preferred.
• Strong written and spoken communications; ability to present findings at publications and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform field experiments on smart pavements, including sensor installation and data acquisition.
• Work on mechanistic-empirical pavement modelling and evaluation for airport pavements.
• Develop state-of-the-art solutions for high-performance pavement systems and coordinate with contractors for field implementation.
• Manage research project progress, grant administration, and finances.
• Work on other tasks set out by the project PI.
