Job summary

The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for a postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. You will lead the design and verification of a modular long-span structural system and contribute to metal 3D printing research.

Under the supervision of Asst Prof Meng Xin, you will analyse structural performance, assess constructability and carbon footprint, and perform finite element analyses on composite systems.

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Strong research portfolio with publications in structural engineering.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Propose conceptual structural systems for modular long-span transfer slab/truss assemblies.
• Analyse structural performance under static loading, vibration, and elevated temperatures.
• Assess productivity, constructability, and carbon footprint of novel structural system.
• Finite element analysis of composite structural systems and joints.
• Contribute to metal 3D printing research and its effective use in construction.
