Job summary

The National University of Singapore's Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering is hiring a Research Associate to work on the Complex 2D Precast System project. You will assist the Principal Investigator in research on automation and digitalisation of precast concrete production, including time-motion studies, simulation, and robotic control.

You will collaborate on vision- and LiDAR-based inspection methods, model workflows, and develop middleware architecture.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in civil engineering, architecture, or related built environment field.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an interest in construction automation and digitalisation.
• Experience in process modelling, simulation, BIM, programming, robotics, computer vision, LiDAR or data analysis is advantageous.
• Open to fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time-motion studies and simulate precast production workflows.
• Develop a centralized robotic control and middleware architecture.
• Design and simulate robotic production workstations.
• Develop vision- and LiDAR-based methods for automated inspection and quality control.
