Job summary

LINKEDCORP HR CONSULTANCY PTE. LTD. is seeking a Safety Officer to assist the Project Manager in implementing the safety management system and permit to work, ensuring staff and subcontractors work in a safe environment.

You will act as secretary of the Project WSH Committee, conduct safety inspections, liaise with MOM/NEA/PUB, and help maintain ISO/OHSAS standards while training staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in implementing the safety management system to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
• Assist in implementing the permit-to-work system and stop/report incompatible works to the Project Manager.
• Act as secretary of the Project WSH Committee and chair meetings to inform staff and subcontractors of site activities and required actions.
• Assist the Project Manager in complying with WSH Acts and Regulations.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections to verify safety compliance and continually improve safety standards.
• Ensure site compliance with statutory safety requirements and in-house safety rules; report deviations to the Project Manager.
• Recommend corrective measures for safety non-compliance to enhance site safety.
• Update site management on new or changed statutory safety requirements and take necessary actions.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Liaise with MOM/NEA/PUB on safety, mosquito breeding, ECM, etc., and take action as advised.
• Conduct safety training and organise promotional activities.
• Keep safety documentation current for MOM/NEA or ISO audits.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001.
• Participate in risk assessment evaluation and manage/review management programmes.
• Involve in sub-con safety and health matters at the site.
• Prepare and submit the site environment control programme and ensure staff awareness.
• Inspect site facilities and equipment to maintain environmental health in working condition.
• Assist authorities in investigating outbreaks of infectious diseases.
• Organise campaigns and training to sustain workers' interest in environmental health.
• Assist in managing workers: courses, attendance, sick reporting, leave, accommodation.
• Assist in achieving safety standards required by the site’s developer.
• Involve in safety planning for activities visible to the public.
• Must hold MOM WSH Officer and NEA ECO registrations.
