Job summary

S & D Contractor Pte. Ltd. is seeking a dedicated EHS professional to oversee and implement the SHMS on site, promoting strong environmental, health, and safety practices among the workforce.

You will lead risk assessments, safety meetings, incident investigations, and emergency drills while ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements. Responsibilities

• Understand and effectively implement the organization’s SHMS at the site
• Plan, organize and manage EHS promotional activities within the site to cultivate good EHS practices
• Provide reasonably practicable and effective EHS recommendations to team members to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements
• Motivate, coach and counsel on EHS matters to site workforce on an on-going basis with particular regard for recalcitrant personnel
• Co-ordinate the work of team members, allocate tasks and provide effective supervision
• Led the risk assessment team at the site
• Participate as a risk management team member in the corporate RM organization
• Brief project manager/ project team periodically on the execution status of the overall safety program
• Carry out safety orientations and conduct daily safety toolbox meetings (if required)
• Conduct monthly EHS Committee meetings with Subcontractors
• Review existing safety measures and recommend safety measures for upcoming works during the safety committee meeting
• Recommend Stop Work Order to Project Manager when unsafe conditions arise including promptly correcting any unsafe conditions or safe work practice
• Attend client/consultant safety meetings/ weekly coordination & technical meetings
• Lead investigation and maintain records for every first aid case, accident and near miss at the work site
• Conduct emergency drills periodically
• Inspect the site to ensure all facilities and equipment relevant to the maintenance of environmental health are in proper working condition and do not pose any environmental health hazard
• Identify and discuss environmental health irregularities such as mosquito and fly breeding, rodent infestation, noise/dust/smoke / water pollution, poor housekeeping, earth littering, poor refuse management, poor maintenance of sanitary facilities, etc. and recommend measures to rectify such irregularities
• Any other duties as may be assigned
