Job summary

ByteDance seeks a Site Reliability Engineer for the Traffic Platform to build and operate our global traffic services. You will scale large distributed systems, develop automation and monitoring, and respond to incidents in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on lifecycle improvements, cross-cloud deployment, and supporting TikTok and ByteDance services with fault-tolerant infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/EE or related field.
• Proven experience with Linux at kernel and user level; strong system libraries and protocols.
• 3+ years in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, Shell).

Responsibilities

• Build, expand and operate ByteDance’s global traffic platform across clouds and edge data centers.
• Develop tools, automations, visualizations and monitors to optimize platform operations.
• Participate in rotations and respond to performance and reliability incidents.
• Improve infrastructure lifecycle from design to deployment and user support.
