Job summary

Nakano Singapore (Pte) Ltd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support project cost control and contractual administration across Singapore sites. You will perform quantity take-offs, prepare tenders and monitor variations, while coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors.

Applicants should have at least 5 years in building construction, a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the building construction industry.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in quantity take-off, cost estimation, subcontractor claims, and progress claims.
  • Knowledge of tendering, variation orders, project costing, and final account preparation.
  • Monitor project costs against budget.
  • Able to consolidate and valuate subcontractor actual work done for final account.
  • Variation order management and ensure instructed works are properly recorded and claimed.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Project General Manager / Project Manager.
  • Quantity taking off and measurement of quantities for pricing.
  • Study pre-contract files and quotations to obtain new quotations.
  • Identify specified or equivalent materials and check stock availability and delivery times.
  • Check sourcing of quotations and assist in negotiation with sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Reconcile quantities in contract with sub-contractors' and suppliers' claims.
  • Monitor, measure, and price variation works.
  • Prepare periodic progress valuations and check progress claims.
  • Study site instructions and advise on time and cost implications.
  • Monitor expenses and advise on financial status of the project.
  • Brief site staff on recording and confirming oral instructions.
  • Closing of final account.

Job Descriptions:
  1. Reports to Project General Manager / Project Manager.
  2. Quantity taking off.
  3. Study pre-contract files.

  5. Study pre-contract quotations and to obtain new quotations for works.
  6. Check availability of stock of materials and their delivery time.
  7. Check/sourcing of quotations, clarify, and assist in the negotiation with sub-contractors and suppliers.
  8. Reconcile quantities in contract and those claimed by sub-contractors and suppliers.
  9. Monitor, measure, and price variation works.
  10. Prepare periodic progress valuation.
  11. Check progress claims submitted by sub-contractors.
  12. Study all site instructions issued and advise Project Manager of time and cost implications.
  13. Monitor the expenses of the project and advise the Project Manager on the financial status.
  14. Brief site staff on procedure of recording and confirming oral instructions.
  15. Closing of final account.
