Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on purchasing experience in construction.
• Experience buying for site operations, not office purchases.
• Working knowledge of Singapore construction supply chain.
• Ability to read drawings and bills of quantities.
• Strong Excel skills for comparison and tracking.
• Assertive negotiator with problem-solving skills for site compliance.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing & tendering: invite, evaluate and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Cost analysis: perform take-offs, rate build-ups and cost comparisons.
• Commercial negotiation: secure terms beyond price and protect contractual rights.
• Purchase orders & documentation: raise POs accurately and maintain records.
• Delivery & order monitoring: track orders and escalate if needed.
• Supplier relationships: maintain a dependable local supply base with alternatives.
