Job summary

MCC Singapore is seeking a Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate night-shift construction activities at the project site, ensuring works follow drawings, specs and method statements. The role requires Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering and Singapore project experience.

Experience with coordinating with subcontractors, knowledge of WSH requirements, and ability to manage night shifts are essential. AutoCAD skills are a plus and located in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building or related discipline.
• Relevant experience as Site Engineer in Singapore construction projects is preferred.
• Willing and able to work permanent or scheduled night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all night-shift construction activities at the project site.
• Ensure site works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
• Plan and coordinate daily/nightly work activities with subcontractors, supervisors and workers.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure works are completed according to the project schedule.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure workmanship meets required quality standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and other engineering disciplines to resolve site issues.
• Ensure adequate manpower, materials, equipment and machinery are available for night works.
• Monitor subcontractors’ work progress and performance.
• Ensure all night works comply with WSH requirements and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate work permits, inspections and necessary approvals before commencement of works.
• Identify technical/site problems and provide timely solutions to minimise work disruption.
• Prepare daily/night-shift progress reports and maintain proper site records.
• Provide proper work status and outstanding-item handover to the day-shift team.
• Attend site coordination and progress meetings when required.
• Perform other site engineering duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building or related discipline.


• Relevant experience as a Site Engineer in Singapore construction projects is preferred.


• Experience in building, civil, infrastructure or major construction projects will be advantageous.


• Willing and able to work permanent or scheduled night shifts.


• Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and site procedures.


• Able to coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site workers independently.


• Good understanding of Singapore WSH requirements and construction safety practices.


• Able to identify and resolve technical and site coordination issues.


• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.


• Able to work under pressure and meet tight construction schedules.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.


• Possession of relevant construction safety certification such as BCSS/CSCPM or equivalent, where applicable, is advantageous.
