A marine recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for experienced Shipyard Welders to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of marine vessels. Candidates should have a minimum of 2–5 years of experience, proficiency in SMAW and FCAW welding processes, and be comfortable working in challenging environments such as confined spaces. The role involves various welding tasks, fabrication, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
We are seeking experienced Shipyard Welders to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of marine vessels. The ideal candidate will be skilled in multiple welding processes, able to read ship drawings, and comfortable working in challenging shipyard environments including confined spaces and elevated areas.
Perform welding on steel, aluminum, and other marine‑grade metals using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and TIG processes.
Fabricate, install, and repair structural components including hulls, decks, bulkheads, foundations, and brackets.
Follow blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to ensure accuracy and structural integrity.
Conduct weld preparation such as grinding, cutting, beveling, and fitting of materials.
Inspect completed welds to meet shipyard quality standards and classification society requirements (ABS, NAVSEA, USCG, etc.).
Work safely in confined spaces, on scaffolding, and aboard active vessels.
Operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, and hand tools safely and effectively.
Coordinate with supervisors, fitters, and other trades for efficient workflow.
Follow all shipyard safety protocols including PPE use, hot work permits, and fire‑watch procedures.
Minimum 2–5 years of welding experience in a shipyard, marine, or industrial environment.
Proficiency in SMAW and FCAW; additional processes (TIG, GMAW) preferred.
Ability to pass shipyard welding tests (2G, 3G, 4G, 6G depending on requirement).
Ability to read blueprints and understand ship terminology.
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Must pass background check, drug screening, and fit‑for‑duty evaluation.
