Job summary

Abbott offers an Associate Microbiologist (Shift) role based in Tuas, Singapore, focusing on microbiological testing and compliance with GMP, cGMP, GLP, GDP and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. You will review results, lead investigations, and support training for analysts while guiding critical decisions across shifts.

You’ll drive continuous improvement, participate in audits, and provide technical guidance to Production and stakeholders as part of a fast-paced manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science or related field.
• Diploma in a related field with minimum 3 years’ experience.
• 3+ years in a microbiology lab or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with microbiology techniques and lab instrumentation.
• Ability to lead and train staff; strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GMP, cGMP, GLP compliance and laboratory safety across shifts.
• Perform microbiological testing and timely review of results prior to batch release.
• Lead follow-up testing, troubleshooting and investigations for assigned areas.
• Provide technical interpretation and support to Production and stakeholders.
• Drive GLP compliance, audits, and data integrity improvements.
• Coordinate test scheduling, resources, and workload prioritization.
• Act as trainer for new hires and ensure staff competency.
• Oversee calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment.
