Job summary

BEUMER GROUP SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Site Supervisor to lead installation and alignment of conveyor systems and material handling equipment in the Asia region.

You will oversee crews, ensure on-time, high-quality work, read engineering drawings, and coordinate with main/sub-contractors, electricians and safety officers. Travel within Asia (and occasional trips to Europe or the Middle East) is required, with a proven track record in BHS, sortation or similar equipment, and strong

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant site experience in material handling systems (conveyor, BHS, sortation or similar).
• Willingness to travel within Asia region with occasional travel to Europe or Middle East.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings such as layouts and circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of conveyor components (drives, motors, sensors, encoders, belts, rollers, safety devices, control interfaces).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, conflict management and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise installation and alignment of conveyor systems and related electromechanical equipment, ensuring on-time, complete installs.
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation of hours and actions per procedures.
• Review site installations for quality workmanship and adherence to plan; ensure equipment is level, aligned, cleaned and completed to detail.
• Protect customer property and handle materials with care.
• Train crews to interface effectively with main/sub-contractors, electricians, safety officers, etc.
• Close out installations promptly; follow up on punch list resolutions to customer satisfaction.
• Visit sites daily to interface with leads, installation staff, customers and third parties; monitor progress and quality.
• Provide problem-solving support during installation in collaboration with design engineer.
• Provide progress reports daily to weekly.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation and alignment of conveyor systems, material handling equipment and associated electromechanical systems, ensuring that installations are on-time and complete, following the installation schedule, work plan, estimated dealer cost and man-hours.
• Works with crews to ensure that paperwork is timely and accurate; that all hours and actions are well documented according to company procedures
• Reviews site installations to ensure the highest quality workmanship; that product is assembled per plan and is levelled, aligned, cleaned and completed to the highest level of detail.
• Ensures that material is handled with care and that customer’s property is protected and undamaged
• Train crews to have are sponsible and technically adept interface with main/sub-contractors, electricians, safety officer, etc.
• Ensures that installations and all service work is closed out in a timely manner; that punch list resolution is followed up and finished to each customer’s satisfaction
• Visits site installations on a regular and daily basis, interfacing with leads and installation personnel, customers, and customer third parties, monitoring the progress and quality of the work being done by the installation staff.
• Problem-solving during installation in collaboration with the design engineer
• Progress reporting on a daily to weekly basis

Requirements

• ITE(NITEC) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Must be willing to travel within the Asia region with occasional travel to Europe or the Middle East.
• Good understanding of construction/engineering projects
• At least five years of relevant site experience in material handling systems, including conveyor systems, baggage handling systems (BHS), sortation systems, logistics automation, or similar equipment, with a proven track record of hands-on experience as a Site Supervisor.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, conflict management and negotiation skills
• Additional electrical knowledge would be an additional advantage
• Required to be able to read and interpret engineering drawings such as layouts and circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of conveyor components such as drives, motors, sensors, encoders, belts, rollers, safety devices and control interfaces is preferred.
