Job summary

Getinge is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, repair, and maintain medical equipment at healthcare facilities in the SEA region. You will act as the primary on-site contact, diagnose complex faults, and ensure parts accuracy while maintaining safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITE in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• 3 years of hands-on experience in medical equipment installation and maintenance.
• Willingness to travel within SEA as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation, commissioning, repair, preventive maintenance and field service for medical equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve complex faults and ensure correct parts are used to avoid repeat visits.
• Coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure timely service and effective communication.
• Follow infection control practices, PPE guidelines and safety procedures during service visits.
• Support on-call rotations and respond to urgent breakdowns within agreed times.

Job Overview

To provide installation, commissioning, repair, and preventive maintenance services for medical equipment in healthcare environments. Acts as the primary field contact for technical service, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective case resolution.

Job Responsibilities And Essential Duties

• Provide installation, commission, repair, preventive maintenance and field service corrective action (FSCA) implementation services at customer locations independently, and according to established procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults.
• Verify correct parts before delivery to avoid repeat visits. Manage on-site parts replacement, tag defective parts, and maintain accountability for parts usage and returns.
• Manage difficult case communication directly with customers, providing technical explanations and setting realistic expectations.
• Follow workplace infection control practices, PPE, gowning, and maintain clean service tools.
• Participate in weekly standby/rotational on-call shift with other engineers to provide after-hours support for urgent customer cases. Respond to urgent breakdown calls within agreed response times.
• Follow all company service protocols, accurately completing service checklists and reports.
• Handle all administrative work associated with service delivery and ensure timely documentation.
• Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with customers and co-workers.
• Meet individual and departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Comply with company Ethics & Compliance (E&C) policies and Code of Conduct in all customer interactions and service activities.
• Work with Training Academy to provide training to new joiners and distributors.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Candidates with ITE and/or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent medical device related educational background are welcome to apply.
• 3 years of hands-on related experience in medical equipment installation and maintenance.
• Able to travel and support SEA as and when required.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret service manuals and follow maintenance guidelines.
• Hard working, team player, independent, hands-on, customer oriented and good attitude.
• Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in both verbal and written English.

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions

• Field-based position with frequent presence in Hospitals sector requiring strict adherence to hospital infection control and safety policies.
• May work extended hours during peak business cycles
• Physical requirements such as handling, lifting and replacement of parts, must observe ergonomic and safety-best practices.
• Must comply with all company environment, health and safety policies, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
• Travel requirements: occasional.
