Job summary

Wärtsilä Singapore PTE. LTD. is seeking a Service Engineer, 2-stroke Services, to perform field service activities, troubleshoot 2-stroke engines, and lead on-site teams.

You will advise on repairs, commission service products, and interact with customers while ensuring Wärtsilä quality, safety, and environmental guidelines are followed. The role requires a BSc or Diploma in mechanical/marine engineering, 2–5+ years of experience, strong English, and up to 80% travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on 2-stroke engines and ancillary equipment.
• Provide technical advisory for repair activities.
• Handle commissioning of service products.
• Lead on-site team and coordinate related activities.
• Interact with customers and back office during work execution.
• Prepare and provide progress status updates.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental guidelines.
• Promote Wärtsilä solutions and products to customers.

We are looking for a Service Engineer, 2-stroke Services. This is a permanent opportunity, and its location is Singapore.

As a Service Engineer, 2-stroke Services, your responsibilities for the role include:

• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan
• Perform mechanical/electrical and troubleshooting on 2-stroke engines and ancillary equipment
• Perform technical advisory for repair activities executed on customers' responsibility
• Commissioning of service products
• On-site team leading and managing of the assigned team and related activities during the work execution
• Interact with customers during the work execution
• Interacting with Field Services back office and Technical Services during work execution
• Perform internal and external progress status up-dates of the assigned work
• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
• Create the Service Work Reports
• Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wärtsilä solutions and products to customer

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• BSC Degree with 2-5 years of working experience in the related field
• Diploma in mechanical, and marine engineering with more than 5 years of working experience in the related field
• Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Good command of English, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time
• Ability to create internal and external work reports
• Ability to communicate and interact well with customers and other stakeholders
• Literacy in Information Management Applications/ Tools such as MS Office
