Job summary

CAN TRADER & SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Service Engineer/Technician to join our marine service team in Singapore.

You will go onboard vessels to service, install, troubleshoot and commission marine communication and navigation equipment, as well as satellite equipment. You will liaise with the Service Manager and technical support to address defects, prepare complete service reports, and travel overseas for service jobs as needed.

Qualifications

• Singaporeans or PRs preferred.
• Diploma in engineering field.
• MS Word/Excel and IT skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
• Willing to travel overseas as required.
• Experience with radar, autopilot, gyrocompass or satellite marine equipment is advantageous.
• Ex-marine personnel will be considered.
• Fresh graduates welcome to apply.

Job Description

• You will be part of the Service Team, responsible for going onboard vessels to service, install, troubleshoot and commission marine communication and navigation equipment, as well as satellite equipment.
• You would have to follow up with the customer’s requirements by liaising with the Service Manager and the technical support team to provide solutions for defects relating to marine equipment.
• You are also required to prepare complete service reports upon conclusion of all jobs given.
• On the job training will be provided for candidates who have no prior experience.
• You may be required to travel overseas for service jobs from time to time.

Requirements

• Singaporeans or Singapore PRs are preferred
• Candidates must possess at least a diploma in an engineering field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and IT Skills are required.
• Must possess good communication, inter-personal and project management skills.
• Must be able to travel overseas should the job requires.
• There will be an added advantage for candidates with work experience in radar, autopilot, gyrocompass, satellite or other marine communication and navigation equipment.
• Ex-marine related industries, ex-navy personnel will be considered.
