Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer (L3) – On-Premises Infrastructure
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer (L3) to provide advanced technical support and operational management of enterprise Windows, VMware, Nutanix, Active Directory and Hybrid Identity environments within a 24x7 managed services environment.
The role will be responsible for complex incident resolution, infrastructure optimisation, automation, security, lifecycle management and disaster recovery, while ensuring high availability and SLA compliance.
Support Coverage
- Provide 24x7 operational support through shift rotation and on-call coverage.
- Handle major incidents and complex L3 escalations.
- Ensure SLA compliance and timely resolution of infrastructure issues.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing and execution.
Technical Requirements
- Strong administration experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, GPO, ADFS, KMS and RDS.
- Strong experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS and vMotion.
- Hands-on experience with Nutanix Prism, AHV, CVM and LCM.
- Experience with SCCM, BigFix, Datadog and Grafana.
- Experience with AD Manager Plus and Quest Recovery Manager.
Active Directory & Entra ID
- Manage and support Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID operations.
- Administer Conditional Access policies.
- Support Identity Governance and RBAC administration.
- Conduct access certification and review activities.
- Manage Entra Connect and Hybrid Identity environments.
- Perform Active Directory recovery using Quest Recovery Manager.
- Administer AD Manager Plus.
- Support security and compliance audits.
- Manage certificate lifecycle and related infrastructure.
- Ensure secure and reliable integration between on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible Automation Platform.
- Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform.
- Develop PowerShell automation for administration and operational tasks.
- Use Python scripting to support infrastructure automation.
- Design and implement workflow automation.
- Develop reusable Ansible playbooks and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules.
Operational Responsibilities
- Manage Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and maintain the Known Error Database (KEDB).
- Manage server patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Track infrastructure lifecycle, including EOL/EOS planning and remediation.
- Monitor and manage infrastructure capacity, availability and performance.
- Plan, execute and support Disaster Recovery (DR) activities.
- Coordinate with OEMs and third-party technology vendors.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs and operational runbooks.
- Drive continuous improvement across infrastructure operations and support processes.
