Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) seeks a highly experienced FVP - Risk SA to lead the risk management framework across the South Asia region. This role will drive risk governance for credit, market, operational, liquidity and reputational risk while advising senior management.

You will mentor a high‑performing risk team, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong risk culture across SA. The position requires strategic insight, robust communication, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related quantitative field is required.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive risk management experience, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks tailored to the specific regulatory and market environment of the South Asia region.
• Lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of all material risks, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, and reputational risk, within SA.
• Oversee the development and application of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methodologies and tools.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and internal group risk policies and standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals, fostering a strong risk culture and continuous professional development.
• Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management and relevant committees on risk-related matters impacting SA.
• Act as a key liaison with regulatory bodies, internal and external auditors, and other stakeholders on risk management issues.
• Collaborate with business units to integrate risk considerations into business strategies, product development, and operational processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in risk management practices through benchmarking, best practice adoption, and technology leverage.
• Prepare and present regular risk reports and analyses to local and group-level management.
