Job summary

ANGLO-EASTERN SHIPMANAGEMENT (S) PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead technical operations on LNG-powered vessels. The role focuses on planning repairs, dry-docking, and maintaining fleet performance in line with company standards.

You will oversee budgets, spare parts procurement, and compliance with statutory surveys, while mentoring crew and coordinating with owners. A strong background in motor and steam LNG and excellent reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.
• Experience on both Motor and Steam LNG is an added advantage.
• Previous LNG related shore experience is desirable.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Good technical report and specification writing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute repairs and dry-docking.
• Monitor vessel performance and PMS daily.
• Conduct vessel inspections three times a year.
• Prepare and monitor survey cycles and statutory requirements/repairs.
• Monitor procurement and delivery of spare parts and stores.
• Prepare operating budgets and monitor spending vs budget.
• Escalate costs that exceed the budget.
• Participate in pre-purchase inspections and owner reports.
• Maintain highest maintenance per Anglo-Eastern standards.
• Liaise with owner’s departments for requirements.
• Any other tasks as assigned by Line Manager.

Job description

• Plan and execute works related to repair and dry-docking, including both routine repairs and major repairs.
• Monitor the vessel performance and PMS on the daily basis.
• Conduct vessel inspection for each ship under charge three times a year and follow up on issues identified.
• Prepare and monitor survey cycles, statutory survey requirements /repairs to ensure compliance.
• Monitor and control the purchase and delivery of spare parts and stores supplied to the vessels.
• Prepare the operating budgets for fleet manager/director review and monitor the actual budget spending vs the budget throughout the year.
• Escalate the issue in case the costs are expected to exceed the budget.
• Participate in pre-purchase/pre-takeover third party checking, as well as inspection and reports for the owners as per request.
• Maintain highest maintenance of the assigned vessel as per Anglo-Eastern Standard.
• Liaise with owner respective department for their requirements.
• Any other specific task assigned by Line Manager.
