Job summary

Anglo-Eastern Ship Management in Singapore seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee technical management of LNG vessels, planning repairs, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, excellent communication, and is capable of producing precise technical reports and specifications. This role offers exposure to a global network with diverse opportunities in ship management.

Qualifications

• To have Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.
• Experience on both Motor and Steam LNG will be an added advantage.
• Previous LNG related shore experience is desirable.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Good technical report and specification writing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute repairs and dry-docking, including routine repairs and major repairs.
• Monitor vessel performance and PMS on the daily basis.
• Conduct vessel inspection for each ship under charge three times a year and follow up on issues identified.
• Prepare and monitor survey cycles, statutory survey requirements /repairs to ensure compliance.
• Monitor and control the purchase and delivery of spare parts and stores supplied to the vessels.
• Prepare the operating budgets for fleet manager/director review and monitor the actual budget spending vs the budget throughout the year.
• Escalate the issue in case the costs are expected to exceed the budget.
• Participate in pre-purchase/pre-takeover third party checking, as well as inspection and reports for the owners as per request.
• Maintain highest maintenance of the assigned vessel as per Anglo-Eastern Standard.
• Liaise with owner respective department for their requirements.
• Any other specific task assigned by Line Manager.
