Job summary

Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Senior Verification Engineer for the Singapore R&D Medical team to design and implement verification strategies for market-leading microscopy products.

You will work with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and external labs to ensure product reliability and regulatory compliance, reporting to the Verification Manager in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, E&E, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience in design verification of medical devices.
• Knowledge of test and design verification methodologies.
• Familiar with regulatory standards and verification documentation.
• Understanding of mechanical, electronic hardware, firmware and software areas.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed verification plans, strategies, test cases, and reports to evaluate Systems functionality and compliance with project requirements.
• Analyze product and design specifications to develop thorough verification procedures and documented results.
• Manage the design verification process to support regulatory compliance (FDA, GMP, ISO, IEC).
• Ensure the design quality of new products developed by Leica Singapore R&D before transfer to Operations.
• Drive continuous improvement in verification processes to adapt to regulatory changes.

The Senior Verification Engineer is responsible for designing the verification methodology, selecting appropriate testing environments, designing verification plans, selecting verification tools, and writing up verification procedures and reports. Engaged in design verification tasks as well as technical test support activities of the new market-leading microscopy products. Utilized personal experience and knowledge in mechanical, electronic hardware, firmware, and software for developing verification and test solutions. Worked closely with R&D, and cross-functional departments like Operation, Supply Chain and Logistic Teams, to ensure the quality, reliability, and robustness of the products to fulfill standards and customer expectations.

This position reports to the Verification Manager and is part of the Research & Development Medical located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Create detailed verification plans, strategies, test cases, and reports to evaluate Systems functionality, performance, and compliance with project requirements. Provide clear, concise reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.

• Analyze product and design specifications to develop reliable and thorough verification procedures, ensuring product functionality is verified and results are clearly documented in official verification reports.

• Manage the design verification process to support compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including but not limited to FDA, GMP, ISO, and IEC standards.

• Ensure the design quality of new products developed by Leica Singapore R&D meets required standards before transfer to the Operations team.

• Drive continuous improvement in design verification processes to keep pace with changes in the regulatory environment.

The essential requirements of the job include

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with relevant experience in design verification of medical devices.

• Experience in a similar engineering, verification or product development environment.

• General understanding of different engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electronic hardware, firmware, and software areas.

• Knowledge of test and design verification methodologies, regulatory requirements, and required verification documentation.

• Working knowledge of general and medical device/equipment regulatory standards and requirements.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Medical device industry, applied device industry, or surgical microscopy.

• Working with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality, external suppliers, customers, or test labs.
