Job summary

Amgen Singapore Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to manage day‑to‑day operation, monitoring, and first‑line support of site utility systems in a biologics and API manufacturing environment.

You will operate HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, compressed air, and nitrogen systems, monitor alarms, perform start‑up/shutdown, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure GMP‑compliant operations. A shift‑work readiness and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree requirement: Bachelor’s or equivalent with related experience; alternative with Associate’s or High School Diploma with longer experience.
• Preferred certifications in steam boilers, work at height, confined space or NFPA hot work.
• Preferred hands-on experience in utility systems operation, HVAC, chilled water systems, cooling towers, boilers, compressed air, nitrogen, or other industrial utility systems.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments is an advantage.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; rotation shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and perform routine rounds for site utility systems including HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, compressed air, nitrogen, and associated support systems.
• Monitor operating parameters, alarms, and trends; execute actions and escalate issues when needed.
• Perform alarm monitoring, timely response, escalation, and reporting for utility systems.
• Carry out start‑up, shutdown, changeover, and recovery activities as per procedures.
• Coordinate with Planner, Utilities, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and service providers for shutdowns and handover.
• Oversee vendors during utility-related work to ensure GMP and safety compliance.
• Provide guidance to new staff on LOTO, alarm response, and documentation.
