Job summary

ADM Asia Pacific seeks a Senior Trader, Oils to lead physical trading of crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, and related products from origins to destinations in bulk or containers.

Role requires 5–10 years in edible oils trading, a proven P&L track record, and a strong regional network. You will develop strategies, manage hedging, and coordinate with risk, credit and sustainability teams while operating in a dynamic, multi-cultural environment. Singapore-based with global reach.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of edible oils trading with proven positive P&L track record
• Independent trader with no asset/plantation backing
• Strong network of customers and suppliers in key spice/oil regions

Responsibilities

• Execute physical trading of crude palm oil (CPO), RBD palm oil, RBD palm olein and related products in bulk or containers
• Trade soft oils (e.g., Soybean Oil, Canola, Sunflower, Corn Oil) to destinations
• Develop trading strategies and arbitrage opportunities to optimize profits
• Execute hedging using futures, swaps to manage price/ basis risk
• Manage position limits with risk management
• Manage counterparty credit exposure with credit/finance teams
• Qualify new suppliers with sustainability team

Your Responsibilities

• Execute physical trading of crude palm oil (CPO), RBD palm oil, RBD palm olein, and related products alighed to customer needs in bulk or containers.
• Execute physical trading of soft oils such as RBD Soybean Oil, Canola Oil, Sunflower Oil, Corn Oil in bulk or containers to customers at destinations.
• Establish strong relationships with customers and suppliers at the origins and destinations.
• Developing trading strategies and arbitrage opportunities to optimize profits
• Execute hedging strategies using futures, swaps etc to manage flat price and basis risk.
• Manage position limits in coordination with risk management team
• Manage counterparty credit exposure in coordination with credit and finance team
• Qualifying new suppliers in coordination with sustainbility team

Your Profile

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience trading in edible oils with proven positive P&L track record and contributions.
• Candidate must be very motivated, independent and confident to succeed in a pure trading environment with no asset/plantation backing.
• Strong network of customers in Bangladesh , Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Africa etc. Strong knowledge on daily local prices of different edible oils in the local market.
• Additional advatange if candidate is well verse in trading ex tank or domestic distribution
• Strong understanding of edible oils market including supply/demand of the origin
• Strong understanding of Biofuels, feedstocks, waste economics
• Good knowledge of the freight and logistics market
• Strong and objective team player who can work collaborate within a multi-cultural setting
• Possess a strong "owner" mindset when performing all responsibilities.
