Job summary

Zohorecruit invites an experienced trade finance professional to join our maritime finance team in Singapore. You will oversee the end-to-end trade finance workflow, including letters of credit, documentary collections and bank guarantees, while ensuring compliance with AML and sanctions controls.

You will collaborate with banking partners and internal teams to manage documentation, risk, and cash flow planning, mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Finance, Banking, Accountancy, Business, Economics or related discipline.
• Precise, detail-focused approach with ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related banking documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trade finance activities: letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, standby LCs.
• Review trade/shipping documents for accuracy against contracts and banking requirements.
• Coordinate preparation and lodgement of trade finance applications and related paperwork.
• Identify discrepancies and risks in documents; work with counterparts to resolve.
• Track facilities, utilisations, limits, maturities, fees and financing costs.
• Collaborate with relationship banks on execution, documentation, pricing, and ops.

Job Description

• Oversee the full spectrum of trade finance activities, covering letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, and standby letters of credit.
  
• Examine trade and shipping documents to verify accuracy and alignment with contractual and banking requirements.
  
• Coordinate the preparation and timely lodgement of trade finance applications, amendments, drawdowns, and supporting documentation.
  
• Detect documentation discrepancies and transaction risks, working with relevant parties to resolve issues promptly.
  
• Track trade facilities, utilisation, limits, maturity schedules, fees, financing costs, and related transaction records.
  
• Partner with relationship banks on transaction execution, facility documentation, pricing, and operational requirements.
  
• Maintain adherence to internal approval procedures, maker-checker controls, AML, sanctions, and applicable regulatory standards.
  
• Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to facilitate shipping, bunkering, and trading transactions.
  
• Provide visibility on upcoming payments, receipts, financing commitments, and available facilities to support cash flow planning.
  
• Mentor junior team members while contributing to enhancements in trade finance processes, controls, templates, and reporting practices.
  

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Finance, Banking, Accountancy, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  
• Minimum 5 years of relevant trade finance experience in the maritime industry.
  
• Strong working knowledge of letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, standby letters of credit, shipping documentation, and trade finance practices.
  
• Familiarity with trade finance controls, AML and sanctions requirements, banking relationships, facility management, and time-sensitive transaction documentation.
  
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities independently, with strong communication, stakeholder coordination, Microsoft Office proficiency, and a high level of integrity and accountability.
