Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a Lead Test Engineer to provide technical leadership for module testing and system qualification. You will own end-to-end test strategy, drive automation, and coordinate cross-functional improvements to meet quality, cost and delivery goals.

The role requires 8–10 years in test engineering, experience with complex mechatronic systems, and a proven track record in leading teams and implementing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics or related field.
• 8-10 years in test engineering, module testing or system qualification with leadership.
• Experience with semiconductor/precision manufacturing environments preferred.
• Proven track record leading technical teams and cross-functional initiatives.
• Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or ISTQB certification preferred.
• Strong skills in test strategy, requirements analysis and traceability.
• Structured troubleshooting using 8D, DMAIC, PDCA and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Test Engineering team, set priorities and establish review mechanisms.
• Own test and qualification strategy for new product introductions and changes.
• Translate requirements into test coverage, acceptance criteria and plans.
• Govern test procedures, documentation, release and change control.
• Define and maintain test systems, fixtures and calibration requirements.
• Develop and deploy test software, scripts and data solutions.
• Monitor execution, capacity, uptime and delivery risks; drive corrective actions.
• Lead root-cause analyses, CAPA and effectiveness verification.
• Review KPIs like yield, cycle time and defect trends; drive improvements.
• Lead Lean Six Sigma, automation and digitalization initiatives.
