We are currently supporting a client in the search for a Senior Technical Engineer – Subsea Pipelines & ORF. This role focuses on the development and delivery of high-pressure natural gas export infrastructure, including subsea pipelines, landfalls, onshore pipelines, and Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORFs) that connect offshore gas supply to downstream distribution networks.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept development and FEED through detailed engineering, project execution, commissioning, and operational readiness. Rather than performing detailed design activities, the role will involve conducting senior technical reviews, managing engineering interfaces, and ensuring safe, reliable, and fit-for-purpose project delivery across Asia-Pacific and global projects.
Key areas of expertise sought include:
- Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF)
- Jetty Structures and Associated Pipeline Systems
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical input throughout concept development, FEED, detailed engineering and execution, reviewing engineering deliverables and coordinating the resolution of technical issues.
- Review pipeline route selection, survey and geotechnical inputs, pipeline design, materials selection, corrosion protection, installation methods, landfalls and shore crossings, working with relevant discipline specialists.
- Review ORF gas reception, metering, pressure regulation, isolation, protection and control arrangements, coordinating specialist input to support safe and reliable operation.
- Coordinate technical interfaces between the FSRU/export connection, jetty, subsea pipeline, landfall, onshore pipelines, ORF and downstream gas network.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard identification (HAZID), hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and risk assessments, and coordinate follow-up of technical actions.
- Review compliance with applicable codes, standards and local regulatory requirements, including classification requirements where relevant.
- Support planning, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and operational readiness, reviewing procedures and coordinating technical interfaces and outstanding issues.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, regulators and project partners; contribute lessons learnt and continuous improvement to engineering practices and project delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical, piping, pipeline, subsea, offshore, civil, electrical, instrumentation and control, process, marine or another relevant engineering discipline.
Experience
- Preferably 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience, with priority given to subsea pipeline, ORF and gas transmission infrastructure experience.
- Relevant experience gained with a classification society, consultancy, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, technical service provider or infrastructure developer.
- Experience reviewing or coordinating engineering for high-pressure natural gas infrastructure, with a sound understanding of multidisciplinary interfaces and project delivery.
- Experience in technical safety, risk assessment and regulatory matters is desirable.
- FSRU, LNG or cryogenic systems experience is an advantage only and is not mandatory.
Thank you for your interest in this opportunity. We will evaluate your experience against the project requirements and keep your details on file for current and future opportunities.
We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified and contacted to discuss the next stage of the recruitment process.
