Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Advisor to support government sales, customer engagement, and strategic programs across the Asia region. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise working with military customers in Asia, strong familiarity with U.S. Government processes, and proven success navigating complex international regulatory environments including ITAR, FCPA, and related compliance frameworks. This role will interface regularly with U.S. Embassies, local ministries, defense agencies, and cross-functional teams to guide technical, operational, and commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise executives and sales leadership on regional dynamics, risks, and policy changes affecting government sales.
• Serve as the senior technical and strategic advisor for government and defense sales initiatives across Asia.
• Provide advice on how to build and maintain strong relationships with military organizations, defense ministries, and government agencies throughout the region.
• Leverage expertise to advise leadership and sales reps to liaise closely with U.S. Embassies, ODCs, and security cooperation offices to support program development, approvals, and in-country engagements.
• Provide expert guidance on requirements development, capability alignment, and operational integration for defense customers.
• Support capture strategy, proposal development, demonstrations, and technical evaluations for government opportunities.
• Interpret and advise on ITAR, FCPA, export controls, and other regulatory requirements to ensure full compliance in all engagements.
• Conduct market assessments, competitor analysis, and identify emerging opportunities in the defense and government sectors.

Job Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in defense, aerospace, government sales, or military advisory roles within Asia.
• Extensive experience working directly with Asian military customers and government stakeholders.
• Prior experience with the U.S. Government, such as DoD, defense procurement offices, or supporting U.S. federal programs.
• Demonstrated experience working with U.S. Embassies, including security cooperation, defense attaché offices, or international program teams.
• Strong working knowledge of ITAR, FCPA, and international compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical and operational concepts to senior government officials.
• Experience collaborating with local agencies, ministries, and regulatory bodies across Asia.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the region.
