Job summary

SCIENTE is seeking a hands-on Senior System Engineer to lead and support 24x7 mission-critical systems in secure on-premises environments in Singapore. The role emphasizes operational leadership, deployments, incidents, and emergency recovery with after-hours coverage.

Key responsibilities include managing Windows servers, Active Directory, VMware infrastructure, SSL management, and security patching, while coordinating with OEMs for root-cause analysis and resolution.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Systems Administration or mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, and MS SQL Server.
• Experience with VMware, Layer 2/3 networking, and Splunk monitoring.
• Knowledge of backup/recovery, disaster recovery, patching, and cybersecurity solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Willing to provide on-site support including after-hours and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows servers, workstations, and AD environments.
• Manage antivirus definitions, security patches, OS/software/firmware upgrades.
• Perform SSL certificate renewal and management across components.
• Maintain VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX).
• Monitor logs using Splunk and Syslog tools; coordinate with vendors for root-cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with OEM vendors for resolution.
• Conduct monthly preventive maintenance and health checks; produce reports.
• Support deployments and change activities during off-peak hours.
• Manage L1-L3 incident tickets and service requests.
• Provide 24/7 Level 2 support on a scheduled rotation.

Mandatory Skill Set

• Must have 3-5 years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, or Mission-Critical environments;
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, and Microsoft SQL Server;
• Experience with VMware, Layer 2/3 networking, and Splunk monitoring;
• Knowledge of backup/recovery, disaster recovery, patching, and cybersecurity solutions;
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
• Willing to provide on-site support for critical incidents and emergency recovery, including after-hours, weekends, and public holidays.

Desired Skill Set

• Experience in air-gapped, secure, or regulated environments is preferred.
