Job summary

SCIENTE in Singapore seeks a hands-on System Engineer to lead and support 24x7 mission-critical systems in secure on-premises environments. You will administer Windows Server, AD, and VMware, monitor with Splunk, and manage patches, DR, and security.

Responsibilities include on-site incident handling, after-hours support, and collaboration with OEM vendors for root cause analysis. This role requires strong troubleshooting and operational leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in Systems Administration or mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, and SQL Server.
• Experience with VMware, L2/L3 networking, and Splunk monitoring.
• Knowledge of backup/recovery, DR, patching, and cybersecurity solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Willing to provide on-site support for incidents including after-hours.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows servers, workstations, and AD environments.
• Manage patches, security updates, OS/software/firmware upgrades.
• Perform SSL certificate renewal and management across components.
• Maintain VMware virtualization infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX).
• Monitor logs with Splunk and Syslog tools.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with OEM vendors for RCAs.
• Monthly preventive maintenance, health checks, and reporting.
• Support deployments and changes during off-peak hours.
• Manage L1-L3 incident tickets and service requests.
• Provide 24/7 L2 on-call support per rotation.

The role requires strong technical expertise and operational leadership, with hands-on involvement in deployments, critical incidents, and emergency recovery activities.

Mandatory Skill Set

• Must have 2 years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, or Mission-Critical environments;
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, and Microsoft SQL Server;
• Experience with VMware, Layer 2/3 networking, and Splunk monitoring;
• Knowledge of backup/recovery, disaster recovery, patching, and cybersecurity solutions;
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
• Willing to provide on-site support for critical incidents and emergency recovery, including after-hours, weekends, and public holidays.

Desired Skill Set

• Experience in air-gapped, secure, or regulated environments is preferred.

• Provide 24/7 Level 2 operational support based on a scheduled rotation.
